01 — Preface

A note on the work.

I work at the seam where language meets story. By day I shape the social voice of a New York–based tech studio; by night I write fiction, study how Bangladeshi classrooms hold a second tongue, and read advertisements like they're field notes.

Trained in English literature and applied linguistics at BRAC University, I'm drawn to projects that take craft seriously — whether that's a strategy doc, a 7th-grade lesson plan, or a short story circling a real disaster from a careful distance.

03 — Research

Three threads in applied linguistics.

Coursework and independent projects from BRAC University, sitting at the join of language teaching, sociolinguistics, and media.

Reflecting on Language-Teaching Methods in the Bangladeshi Context

A critical reading of grammar-translation, audio-lingual, and communicative methods against the realities of Bangladeshi classrooms — class size, exam pressure, the L1–English distance, and the teacher's authority. Argues for a hybrid, context-aware practice rather than wholesale method adoption.

ObjectiveExplored and critically evaluated various language-teaching methodologies within the socio-cultural context of Bangladesh to enhance instruction efficacy.

Between Winter & Spring

Resonance — BRAC University bilingual creative-writing journal

A short story circling the Sewol ferry tragedy in South Korea from a careful, oblique distance. A shorter version was selected for the recitation-prose category in an event by Resonance.

On the morning the sea took them, the radio played a love song from a year that no one remembered. Mother folded the laundry as if folding were a kind of prayer. She did not look out the window. She did not need to. The light had gone the colour of yesterday's tea.
